2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ZakaatCalculator.co.uk (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to check this page regularly.
3. Nature of the Service — Estimates Only
The Service provides an estimate of Zakaat liability based on the information you enter. It is an educational and informational tool only. It does not constitute financial advice, religious advice, a fatwa, or a legally binding calculation of any obligation.
The calculation output depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. We have no way to verify what you enter and accept no responsibility for errors arising from incorrect, incomplete, or misleading input.
4. User Responsibility for Accuracy
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring that all values you enter into the calculator are accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Verifying that the totals and final calculation figures displayed are correct before acting on them.
- Selecting the correct school of thought (madhab) and nisab basis for your circumstances.
- Verifying the Zakaat amount payable with a qualified Islamic scholar before payment, particularly for complex financial situations.
- Keeping records of your own Zakaat calculations and payments.
- Understanding that the calculator assumes the hawl (lunar year) condition is met — it is your responsibility to verify this.
5. No Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Accuracy or completeness of fiqh rulings applied by the calculator
- Accuracy of metal spot prices fetched from third-party sources (LBMA via metals.dev)
- Fitness for any particular purpose
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
- That the Service will meet your specific religious obligations
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Companies999 Ltd and ZakaatCalculator.co.uk shall not be liable for:
- Any loss or damage arising from reliance on calculator outputs
- Any religious, financial, or legal consequence of underpaying or overpaying Zakaat based on calculations from this Service
- Loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss
- Errors in third-party price data used to calculate nisab thresholds
- Technical failures, downtime, or data loss
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Religious Disclaimer
This Service is not affiliated with any mosque, Islamic charity, scholarly body, or fatwa council. The fiqh rules applied by the calculator represent the mainstream positions of the four Sunni madhabs as understood by us, and are intended as general guidance only. For complex situations, disputed assets, or formal religious obligations, you must consult a qualified Islamic scholar (alim) or obtain a fatwa from an accredited institution. We bear no responsibility for the religious correctness of any Zakaat payment made on the basis of this Service.
